For 80 years, Hasselblad cameras have captured numerous photographs that have become known as classic, iconic images, and therefore, are part of our heritage. NASA; space; 500C; Victor & Erna Hasselblad; Scandinavian design; legendary photographers and the faces of history they’ve documented – these words are all part of our Swedish heritage. In 1978, Victor Hasselblad died at the age of 72. In his will, he left the majority of his sizeable fortune to the Erna and Victor Hasselblad Foundation.The purpose of the foundation is to promote research and academic teaching in the natural sciences and photography.

ERNA & VICTOR. Everyone who ever interacted with Erna and Victor Hasselblad was struck by how much the two belonged together. The Hasselblad camera was used for all of the Moon landings in the years 1969 to 1972. It showed us the Moon – as well as the Earth – as we had never seen it before. Erna and Victor sold the camera company in the 1970s.
